Time to Rhyme

Encourage each player to use his or her mind. They can make up a word if they get in a bind!

To prepare for this game, write 15-30 words on small slips of paper. Consider your age group when choosing words and be sure to make some easy and some hard to rhyme. Place the words in a hat (red and white striped if possible) and mix them up.

Seat your guests in a circle and start with the birthday child, who draws a word from the hat. After he or she says the chosen word out loud, each player has to come up with another word that rhymes with it. Go around the circle, allowing players to make up words if they get stuck. End the round when a player gets totally stumped or repeats a word that has already been used.
