Follow the Cat in the Hat

Enlist a fun-loving teenager or parent to dress up as the friendly feline with the red and white striped hat and lead everyone in a creative round of follow the leader. Encourage the Cat in the Hat (whoever it may be) to entertain the kids with imaginative, fun, and unexpected actions that will surprise them.

After playing for a while, let the birthday child lead the group wearing the Cat in the Hat’s striped stovepipe hat. When he or she has had two or three minutes as the leader, choose a new leader from your party guests. Be sure the Cat in the Hat stays to play when the children get their turns to lead!
